Private tutor in Cleveland Heights, OH
Kent State University at Kent - Bachelors, Bachelor of General Studies , Notre Dame College - Masters, Education
I earned my masters in education at the Notre Dame College. I then continued my education to prepare to pass the mild/moderate intervention specialist k-12 state licensing test. My experience as an educator is varied. I've taught privately, in classroom groups, and in personalized education. I love tutoring students, as it encompasses both the role of tutor and of mentor. I enjoy tutoring students both during the school year and over the summer. I am experienced in working with students with disabilities, as well as have a solid understanding of the struggles that come with learning disabilities. I was diagnosed in elementary school, struggling to keep up in my language arts classes. As a result, I learned the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in learning. I work with my students to make the subject as fun and interesting as possible. I use a variety of learning tools, such as games and music, to make my sessions engaging. I aim to find the best way to tutor to the individual's specific learning style, as well as finding ways to keep their attention. In my free time, I enjoy photographing nature while on my walks. I love to read, bowl, and exercise.
